The leader of the English Defence League (EDL), Tommy Robinson and deputy Kevin Carroll, have been attending a ‘911 World Freedom Congress’ event at New York. Alongside these figures, is the notorious anti-Islamic blogger Pamela Geller, who we have covered many times here before (here).
For all those who don’t know, she co-founded the Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) and the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) groups, organisations that have been labelled as hate groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
It seems the event is just a tactic by the EDL and its American and European supporters to use a platform (the 9/11 memorials) to target minorities in their mass.
Whilst parts of the far-right are in NY speaking of revenge and targeting minority, the 9/11 victims families are actually promoting a very different agenda, one of forgiveness and peace through the campaign called PeacefulTomorrows.
Wasn’t the EDL financially struggling?
In a lengthy two-part boring rant, Tommy Robinson responded to the claims about him and his organisation receiving funding from outbound source. He admitted to having a lot of financial pressure and the EDL constantly asks for money. But how did he and Carroll make it to America so easily?
