EDL And Affiliates Make Up BAD Lie

Following the rather bad English Defence League (EDL) protest in Walsall recently, the EDL haven’t been taking it too well. The EDL and their affiliates have started making up lies, like the invisible 400-man ‘Muslim mob’ we documented (here).

Now, the EDL leader Tommy Robinson and the ShariaUnveiled, the Body of Truth, the Christian Defence League (CDL) blogs, claim that some ‘Muslim infiltrators’ were causing violence at the Walsall protest (click the names for proof of articles).

Posts read,
Quote: “Three witnesses have come forward and admitted that they were approached on 27 September 2012 by individuals claiming to be members of the Muslim Defence League and Sharia4UK. These three witnesses, which consisted of two males and one female stated that... "We were approached and offered money to dress as English Defence League (EDL) Members and arrive early in Walsall, blend in with their ranks... and create violence at their upcoming Demo." "They recommended attacking police, throwing bottles, bricks...”
But this is just a hilarious yet bad lie. The witnesses are not named and no sources are given proving this actually happened. Secondly, if ‘Muslims’ really did ‘infiltrate’ the EDL, wouldn't supporters notice and do something? Lastly, EDL supporters captured themselves ON FILM throwing objects at police. There are no ‘Muslims’ even present!

This is clearly an attempt to switch the blame onto other people. What’s worse is that it took around 3 days for the EDL to make up this lie. And the EDL leader has even admitted he isn’t ‘bothered’ if the story is true.

Ex-Soldier’s Anti-Muslim Rants On Facebook

The Jarrow and Hebburn Gazette reported that a South Tyneside ex-soldier named Kenneth used his Facebook page to make hate-filled comments about Muslims. It is also reported that he wrote the anti-Islamic messages after he started supporting the far-right English Defence League (EDL).

He pleaded guilty to two counts of sending an offensive message by a public communication network at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court last week.

He has also been sentenced for a separate criminal damage charge relating to his grandfather’s home in the past.

300 Posts And Counting!

We, at EDLReview, are very pleased with the progress we have made in exposing the English Defence League (EDL), its affiliates and the Islamophobia network. With more than 10,000 pageviews and counting, this blog has shown great progress. We’ve also started making videos.

One of our articles has been shared by LoonWatch for the second time (here).

One of our videos has been added into an article created by EDLNews (here).

We do not plan on stopping anytime soon and will continue our work.

Five Infidels Arrested For Attack At Benefit Gig

Five members of the far-right group North West Infidels (who have English Defence League (EDL) ties) have been arrested by the North West Counter-Terrorism Unit, which followed an attack on a young musician and his family at a benefit gig.

Four men aged 21, 24, 30 and 52, and a 17-year-old boy, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit violent disorder.

American Defense League Deceives People

The sharing of misinformation is a norm within the far-right network and we’ve documented several cases, including cat crucifixion hoaxes (here) and invisible 400-man ‘Muslim mobs’ (here).

Another example we present to you is from the American Defense League (ADL), who claim that the Christian girl who was accused of blasphemy in Pakistan is photographed here.

But this isn’t even the picture of her. It’s an old picture of a poor young girl that was taken during the time of the Pakistani earthquake. It’s not of the Christian girl accused of blasphemy. A picture uploaded on Flickr in 2006 also proves how old it is. Click here for the picture.

Clearly, the ADL is being deceptive and trying to pass off something incorrect as truth. Just how much information in this bigoted network is trustworthy?

EDL Makes STUPID Blunder!

On Facebook, the English Defence League (EDL) shared a link claiming that the Rochdale Council of Mosques have condemned an anti-Islam film, but haven't said much about child grooming gangs.

But the EDL hasn’t even paid attention to the news.

The Council actually has condemned child grooming and the exploitation of girls. Rochdale News, the site they cited, even reports about it! Click here for the article. How could they have missed it?

Published on the 8 May 2012, titled ‘Child Sex Trial: Rochdale Council of Mosques response’, it says the Council of Mosques (RCM) unreservedly condemned the “horrific crimes” committed by those convicted of exploiting vulnerable young girls. Furthermore, a spokesperson from the Council said,
Quote: “The RCM will continue to support the GMP, RMBC and other partners to work together for the betterment of our communities to eradicate such evil from our borough.”
If the status was intentional (most likely), it proves how the EDL is omitting information to manipulate people and trying to stir up hatred towards others. If unintentional, the admin is rather stupid. This is definitely a new low.

EDL At Walsall: A Summary

We’ve put together a summary of the English Defence League (EDL) marching in Walsall on the 29th of September 2012. Their presence proved to do more damage than anything good.

Community concerns: The majority of the Walsall community didn’t want the EDL protesting. Police had carefully planned to keep the protest areas safe. People fear for the areas reputation after the EDL being there.

Public disorder: Demonstrations were rather peaceful until a small group started causing havoc. EDL supporters began throwing objects at police, such as bottles, wooden planks and even a bin.

Damage to public property: Property was damaged, including that of a pub, which council workers had to clean up. A few EDL supporters threw rocks through a window. Damage was caused to St Matthew's Hall. After the protest, council chiefs said graffiti, litter and debris was found around the area.

EDL supporters hurt eachother: Various EDL supporters and protest stewards were hurt, mostly due to supporters throwing objects. One steward even acknowledged that EDL supporters did it (here). A woman also claimed she was hit on the head with a brick (here).

Arrests: More than 20 arrests were made and further enquiries will be investigated.

Walsall trade damaged: Black cab services in town were suspended over safety concerns. At the time of the protest, many shops lost trade. One fruit and veg stand owner reported by the BBC said “We lost a valuable whole day's trade.”

Lies: Right-wing bloggers and EDL affiliate groups claimed a 400-man ‘Muslim mob’ was causing mayhem, even though evidence suggests such a ‘400-man’ group didn’t even exist (here). The EDL even began blaming the police for attacks, even though EDL supporters were captured throwing things at police.
