The account was given by a eye-witness and someone working for St Mary’s Church in Luton, England whom was present at the time of the protest.
Amount of EDL at the protest exaggerated
Quote: ‘I understand there were maybe 200 people; the report of 20 EDL present was probably generous from reports I got.’
This Page run by EDL supporters over-exaggerated too. |
EDL leader spoke mainly to his contacts at protest, not the majority
Quote: ‘He [Tommy Robinson] went to leave soon after and as he did was clearly talking to his main contacts among the Sikhs. These were not community or religious leaders I know, nor younger mainstream community activists.’
Sikh community leader told EDL Deputy EDL were not welcome
Quote: ‘Kevin Carrol turned up soon after and not long afterwards community leader Jaswinder Singh Nagra. He told Carrol EDL were not welcome.’
Clearly, the EDL hijacked the Sikh protest in an attempt to divide and conquer. The event was grossly exaggerated by the EDL and made out by even the EDL leader himself that it was a significant feat by the EDL, when really, it wasn’t.
Not really. |
