EDL LEADERS LIE: Rape Story NOT True

HOPE Not Hate has helped expose a rumour created by English Defence League (EDL) leaders Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll, who claimed that a Year Seven schoolgirl was gang-raped in a school toilet in Luton.

The rumour that never happened

The rumour was kicked off by Robinson wrote on Twitter: “News coming in of a yr 7 school girl being gang raped in school toilets? By Muslims ! It's all being kept hush hush? School in Luton.”

Questioned about it, he simply said that the news came “from a good source . If its defo true Luton needs to brace itself.” He later said he had it “confirmed.”

As EDL supporters joined in the outrage, Kevin Carroll joined in too.

HOPE Not Hate spent a day investigating this claim.

They scoured local media, spoke to teachers and parents at local schools and rang every contact they could think of, and no-one had any evidence that this incident took place.

Police even confirm the story was untrue

According to the EDL leaders, the incident took place on school premises but no such incident was ever logged by the local police. Police would have been informed if this incident was true but Bedfordshire Police confirmed themselves that there was no truth in the story.

Conclusion - The rumour was made up

EDL leaders Robinson and Carroll have been exposed as deliberately stirring up hatred on a false rumour, and making the whole thing up.

Hundreds of people have called for Bedfordshire Police to investigate the pair and prosecute them for inciting racial hatred.

EDL Exploits Grooming Fears, Says Report

The English Defence League (EDL) is exploiting concerns about sex-grooming gangs to fuel its anti-Islam agenda and help forge networks with far-right groups across Europe.

According to a university report by King’s College London named ‘A Neo-Nationalist Network: the English Defence League and Europe’s counter-jihad movement’, the EDL has used recent cases of grooming to build support.

Alexander Meleagrou-Hitchens of KCL’s International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation, one of the report’s authors, said:

Quote: “The EDL has successfully exploited concerns about the sex-grooming gangs in the north of England, turning the issue into one of Islam versus the west.”

The EDL and its affiliates have worsened community tensions and further promoted ideas that helped inspire the Norwegian mass killer Anders Breivik, the report said. One tactic used by the EDL to try to boost its support is that of rape allegedly committed by ‘Muslim’ men as evidence of “Islamisation” of the west.

EDL Makes STUPID Blunder!

On Facebook, the English Defence League (EDL) shared a link claiming that the Rochdale Council of Mosques have condemned an anti-Islam film, but haven't said much about child grooming gangs.

But the EDL hasn’t even paid attention to the news.

The Council actually has condemned child grooming and the exploitation of girls. Rochdale News, the site they cited, even reports about it! Click here for the article. How could they have missed it?

Published on the 8 May 2012, titled ‘Child Sex Trial: Rochdale Council of Mosques response’, it says the Council of Mosques (RCM) unreservedly condemned the “horrific crimes” committed by those convicted of exploiting vulnerable young girls. Furthermore, a spokesperson from the Council said,

Quote: “The RCM will continue to support the GMP, RMBC and other partners to work together for the betterment of our communities to eradicate such evil from our borough.”

If the status was intentional (most likely), it proves how the EDL is omitting information to manipulate people and trying to stir up hatred towards others. If unintentional, the admin is rather stupid. This is definitely a new low.

15 September 2012 – Boyd – The Belfast Telegraph reported that a convicted pervert who has already served a 12-year sentence for abusing young girls has been jailed for another eight years for similar offences.

14 September 2012 – George – STV Glasgow reported that a 68-year-old man groomed a child and earned the trust of his mother before sexually abusing her son.

14 September 2012 – John – PeterboroughToday reported that a paedophile with a huge collection of indecent images of children has been jailed for two years and eight months. Many pictures were ranked severe and one video found was more than an hour long.

14 September 2012 – Gerald – This Is Cornwall reported that a serial paedophile who abused girls as young as two has walked free from court because of his own bad health. He committed four indecent assaults and two rapes, and incited a girl under 14 to carry out an indecent act.

13 September 2012 – Gerald – The Hornsley Journal reported that the police jailed a ‘dangerous’ 63-year-old paedophile who arranged to facilitate a child sex offence and the distribution of indecent images of children - including images of the worst kinds of abuse.

13 September 2012 – Derek – This Is South Wales reported that a pensioner who spent more than 40 years sexually abusing a series of girls and women has been branded a “predatory paedophile” by a judge.

11 September 2012 – Alistair – The Evening Times reported that a convicted paedophile is back behind bars after phoning prostitutes only eight days after being released from prison.

11 September 2012 – David – The Southern Daily Echo reported that a 46-year-old from Southampton has appeared in court charged with making sickening child porn.

10 September 2012 – Robert – This Is Gloucestershire reported that a internet paedophile, who was jailed five years ago for grooming a teenage girl, has been told by a judge that he can start using the web again.

9 September 2012 – Steven – The Watford Observer reported that a 54-year-old paedophile who was caught abusing a four-year-old girl in a Watford clothes store told a court he cannot control his depraved urges. He could spend the rest of life in jail because of the threat he poses to young girls.

8 September 2012 – Cyril – This Is Scunthorpe reported that a 89-year-old Scunthorpe man has been locked up for five years after being convicted of eight sex offences with children, dating back to 1978.

8 September 2012 – Stuart – The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that a 61-year-old has been jailed for 14 years after his offences of sexually assaulting a child came to light when he was arrested for downloading vile images of children being abused. He was found guilty of three offences of assault by penetration on a girl under the age of 13.

6 September 2012 – Ashley – The Manchester Evening News reported that a police worker who coaxed children into performing in sick webcam sex shows has been locked up. He used an animated children’s site to find victims late at night.

6 September 2012 – Adam – The Police Oracle reported that a Metropolitan Police officer is due in court after being charged with making indecent images.

6 September 2012 – Glen – KentOnline reported that a 49-year-old paedophile who was admitted to a psychiatrist for his sex abuse of two girls has been jailed for 14 years.

6 September 2012 – Benjamin – This Is Lincolnshire reported that a 74-year-old paedophile has been sentenced to nineteen-and-a-half years imprisonment for historic rapes and sexual assaults on young children.

4 September 2012 – Michael – The Press reported that a 46-yaer-old loner who sent extreme pornographic images on his mobile phone and was found with indecent images of children on his computer has been jailed for 18 months. He was also charged of distributing two images containing bestiality and ‘harm being caused to a person’.

3 September 2012 – Daniel – This Is Hull And East Riding reported a judge took ‘pity’ on a paedophile who slept with three girls. He admitted to having sex with three “vulnerable” friends, two of whom were aged 13 and the other 15.

3 September 2012 – David – This Is Lincolnshire reported that a Gainsborough man faces jail after he was caught with 600 indecent images of children on his computer.

31 August 2012 – Timothy – TunbridgewellsPeople reported that a 41-year-old has been jailed for eight years for his crimes which began in 1999 when his victim was around five.

31 August 2012 – Michael – Pontefract and Castleford Express reported that a young woman has spoken of her torment after her paedophile stepfather who subjected her to years of rape and sexual abuse was jailed for 18 years.

31 August 2012 – Rachel – The South Yorkshire Times reported that a teaching assistant who sexually abused a 13-year-old boy has been jailed for more than three years.

30 August 2012 – David – This Is Derbyshire reported that a paedophile who was already in jail for filming his rape of a schoolgirl has been sentenced to a further 14 years in prison for sexually abusing another girl.

30 August 2012 – Grant – The Skegness Standard reported that a man has been jailed for four years and disqualified from working with children for life, after pleaded guilty to five charges of making indecent images of children, four charges of possessing indecent images of children, two charges of showing an indecent photograph to a child and two charges of taking an indecent photograph of a child.

29 August 2012 – William – This Is Nottingham reported that a paedophile who befriended a woman in order to get to her four children has been locked up.

29 August 2012 – Gareth – The Daily Mail reported that a schoolboy was left with his intestines hanging from his stomach after being brutally stabbed by a paedophile on the run. He attacked the boy, who he did not know, with a bread knife, after being confronted by the father of a girl he sexually abused.

28 August 2012 – Martin – STV reported that a widower raped a schoolgirl before buying her a pregnancy testing kit. He admitted that he had sex with the girl twice before her 13th birthday and once afterwards.

24 August 2012 – Peter – PeterboroughToday reported that a paedophile from Peterborough who accessed indecent images of children on a hacked website and had graphic images on his computer has been jailed for six months. Almost 500 graphic images of children, some thought to be aged in the region of three-years-old were found.

23 August 2012 – Ian – This Is Leicestershire reported that a paedophile has been jailed for sexually abusing three youngsters while visiting their home. He has been given a five-year sentence.

23 August 2012 – Michael – The Scotsman reported that a man who used a young girl and boy as his “sexual playthings” has been jailed for 14 years.

23 August 2012 – Stephen – The Runcorn And Widnes Weekly News reported that a violent paedophile from Widnes whose reign of abuse culminated in the rape of a child has been caged for 14 years. The jury found him guilty of 11 offences including sexual assault and incitement to commit a sex act.

21 August 2012 – Stephen – EADT24 reported that a Suffolk holiday village has blocked a man – released on bail by a court after being convicted of paedophile offences – from visiting. The man has pleaded guilty to six offences of indecency with a child.

Clearly, the EDL only speak on cases that interest them. They target Muslim and Asian communities for their own agenda, and fail to even present a balanced picture!

17 August 2012 – Fredrick – Workshop Guardian reported that a 63-year-old was arrested after police discovered he downloaded sick images and videos of children from the Internet. He has been spared a jail sentence.

16 August 2012 – Ricardo – This Is Somerset reported that a jury at Bristol Crown Court found this 66-year-old guilty of repeatedly raping a young girl in Radstock in the 1990s. He’s been jailed for 14 years.

16 August 2012 – Ross – WalesOnline reported that a 56-year-old was recently caught after being on the run. He was released in February but was facing jail again after breaching the terms of his licence.

15 August 2012 – David – Runcorn and Widnes World reported that a 48-year-old who was caught with more than 1,200 indecent images of children on his computer, floppy disks and CD-Roms will not go to jail! He has avoided the jail term.

15 August 2012 – Lee – The Bolton News reported that the 36-year-old is facing a long jail term after admitting a string of child sex offences. He pleaded guilty to six charges of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, one allegation of sexual assault and one of assault causing actual bodily harm.

14 August 2012 – David – The Telegraph reported that a 59-year-old was caught with a collection of images and videos on his laptop after police found he had been talking to a known paedophile online. He spoke of abusing teenage girls and fantasised about allowing his imaginary daughters be raped by others. He is now walking free!

13 August 2012 – John – The Northern Echo reported that the 25-year-old has been jailed indefinitely. He bribed his victim with money and sweets and ignored her tearful pleas for him to stop the abuse.

11 August 2012 – Craig – The Northern Echo reported that the 27-year-old filmed himself abusing one of his three young victims. He might never be released.

10 August 2012 – Philip – The BBC reported that a former teacher from Cornwall was jailed for three years for grooming and sexually abusing a pupil. He was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.

10 August 2012 – Nathan – The Ilkeston Advertiser reported that the 32-year-old will serve two years and eight months in prison for the sexual asssualt of a girl under 13, distributing indecent photographs of children, taking indecent photographs of children, sexual touching and possession of indecent images.

10 August 2012 – Martin – This Is Sussex reported that the 46-year-old has been jailed for six years at Chichester Crown Court. He has admitted to ten sexual assaults on young boys between 1993 and 1995.

9 August 2012 – Sean – This Is Leicestershire reported that this 26-year-old was jailed for 12 months at Leicester Crown Court in May after he admitted breaching a sexual offences prevention order. He has lost his plea on his jail term.

9 August 2012 – David – The Daily Mail reported that the 45-year-old teacher who kept chilling 800-page journal detailing pre-school ‘victims’ will be freed after posting bail. He was arrested on July 24 for possessing large amounts of child pornography

9 August 2012 – Darrell – ChesterFirst reported that the 27-year-old raped a young girl and sexually assaulted another, He has been jailed for eight years.

7 August 2012 – Scott – STV Glasgow reported that a 46-year-old carer who was caring for vulnerable children when he was caught posing in his boxer shorts while he lay on top of a bed with a female child. Investigation is still being held.

6 August 2012 – Ross – The Western Telegraph reported that 56-years-old was serving a three and a half year prison sentence for sexual offences against children. Police are appealing to help track him down.

5 August 2012 – David – The Croydon Guardian reported that the 47-year-old who was part of a paedophile ring has been jailed for offences relating to the possession of indecent images of children. He was also found guilty of sexual activity with a child.

4 August 2012 – Brian – The Northern Echo reported that the 62-year-old has finally been caught after evading four decades of child sex crimes. He has a catalogue of abuse against four girls.

2 August 2012 – Mevyn – The Mirror reported that the paedophile was serving a seven-year jail term for sexually abusing four boys but it was also found out that he killed a nine-year-old boy in 1984.

2 August 2012 – Glen – Your Local Guardian reported that the 25-year-old has admitted sexually abusing girls, some as young as 13, after grooming them over the internet. He has pleaded guilty to 17 sexual offences.

31 July 2012 – Michael – This Is Staffordshire reported that the 51-year-old who abused a girl in the 1980s has had his jail term cut.

28 July 2012 – Simon – This Is Plymouth reported that the 37-year-old posed as pop star Justin Bieber and boy band One Direction's Niall Horan and then persuaded dozens of the girls from the UK, Australia and Denmark into posing naked or topless for him on their computer webcams.

27 July 2012 – Daniel – The BBC reported that a Northampton man who sexually assaulted a teenage girl during 2010 and 2011 he met on the Internet has been jailed for six years.

27 July 2012 – Shaun – This Is Nottingham reported that the man was jailed indefinitely after sexually assaulting and trying to rape the boy after luring him into woodland. He has been let out of his treatment unit. There is a lot of anger.

26 July 2012 – Bruce – Get Bracknell reported that the paedophile teacher caused ‘incalculable harm’ to his five victims, the Court heard. He has been jailed for  11 years.

24 July 2012 – Stephen – The Bucks Herald reported that a 39-year-old has been found guilty of sexual offences against two children. He has been jailed for a minimum of 13 years. The offences include rape, sexual assault, causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and sexual activity with a child.

23 July 2012 – Charles – STV Edinburgh reported that the 41-year-old appeared at the High Court in Glasgow after earlier admitting to having unlawful sex with a schoolgirl. He has a previous conviction for indecency and had initially faced an allegation of rape.

23 July 2012 – Ian – The Ilkeston Advertiser reported that a former special constable on the run from UK police, has been jailed in Cambodia for sex offences against children. He was working as an English teacher and is said to have paid his five victims, aged between 11 and 15, as little as 8p each for sexual favors.

21 July 2012 – John – The Sun reported that this man assaulted a 7-year-old, and made an excuse, saying she forced him to kiss her. He has been spared.

Our Open Challenge To The EDL

It seems the Yorkshire Divisions of the English Defence League (EDL) plan to do another demo on the 4th August. On Facebook, an event has been created and it states,

Quote: ‘For the last 20 years the muslim grooming gangs have been allowed to roam the streets of Keighley unchecked.Preying on young and vunerable girls in the society.’

But what about the 20 more recent cases we found?

As we highlighted in a previous article, we found 20 different cases of child groomers that were committed in the past two months by white males (the majority). The EDL haven’t staged a protest against them whatsoever!

Our theory seems to be true. Why is the EDL silent about these non-Muslim, non-Asian child groomers?

21 July 2012 – John – This Is Hampshire reported that a 64-year-old former youth club was jailed for five years after grooming and sexually abusing a teenage girl.

18 July 2012 – Jay – The ChronicleLive reported that a man named Jay Williams groomed a 15-year-old girl on Facebook. Police were keeping an eye on him for previously having sexual activity with a boy.

18 July 2012 – Ryan – The Dorset Echo reported that the 26-year-old arranged to meet with a girl who he knew to be under the age of 16 and who was aged between 12 and 13, on two occasions between June and October last year. He will be facing a significant prison sentence.

14 July 2012 – Mark – The Yorkshire Post reported that one groomer drove miles just to abuse a 15-year-old. He locked his car and used force. He has also tried to have sex with another 15-year-old girl in a public toilet in Eastbourne.

13 July 2012 – Kenneth – The Mirror reported that this 77-year-old pretended to have been sent from a Jobcentre to hire 14-year-olds to work as canvassers. He even tried to lure girls to live with him.

13 July 2012 - Anthony, Stefan, John, Ijaz, Mark – The Huffington Post reported that these men picked the girls up from care homes and streets in Derby and paid them up to £30 to perform sexual acts. They have been arrested.

11 July 2012 – Bernard – The Huffington Post reported that a 72-year-old ex-teacher told a girl's parents she needed extra help at school as a way to allow him to groom her for sexual abuse.

7 July 2012 – Jonathan – The Nottingham Post reported that a man named Jonathon Kennedy from Nottingham groomed around 7 children whom he met online and used them for sex.

5 July 2012 – Leslie – The Falkirk Herald reported that a doctor is facing jailtime after he pleaded guilty to stopping two girls, aged 10 and 11, talking to them and asking if he could tickle their legs. He then attempted to get them into his car.

4 July 2012 – Mark – Kent Online reported that a former teacher at a Kent school is facing sentence after admitting a sexual offence with a pupil.

4 July 2012 – Stephen – The Halifax Courier reported that a supermarket worker who was accused of using Facebook to groom a 14-year-old girl has appeared in court to face similar allegations involving more than a dozen other youngsters. 

3 July 2012 – Scott – Derry Journal reported that a 23-year-old was found guilty of “grooming at the highest order” when he set up a fake modelling agency to take “dirty” photographs of young girls. He has been jailed for five years.

2 July 2012 – Elliot – The Manchester Evening News reported that a 19-year-old teenage boy from Salford, groomed three young girls for sex after chatting to them on Facebook.

29 June 2012 – Anthony – Click Manchester reported that 26-year-old, was convicted of grooming in August 2006 at Liverpool Crown Court, but fled to Hanoi in Vietnam shortly after.

29 June 2012 – Matthew – This Is Cornwall reported that a repairman has been convicted of offences against four girls.

28 June 2012 – Nicky – This Is Hull And East Riding reported that a man was busted in an undercover operation. Hull Crown Court heard McCullough had been targeting young girls in a children's chat room between July and October 2007.

26 June 2012 – Nicholas – Kent Online reported that a guitar tutor bombarded a Herne Bay schoolgirl with more than 23,000 text messages during a nine-month relationship. He has previously been charged with meeting a child for sex after grooming and three counts of sex activity with a child.

24 June 2012 – Alan – Wales Online reported that the man was jailed for a total of 18 years for horrific historic charges of child abuse against two boys, then aged 12 and 14, dating back to the 1980s. In one incident, he lured a boy to a house where him and his friends hooded and gang-raped him.

22 June 2012 – John – This Is Kent reported that a man from Ramsgate has been jailed for 18 months after downloading indecent images of children and grooming a 14-year-old girl online.

6 June 2012 – Christopher – The BBC reported that a 64-year-old bribed girls with money and confectionery in order to abuse them. He admitted sexual activity with a child and seven charges of indecency or indecent assault and has been jailed.

Paedophiles Arrested – EDL Silent

The grooming cases by Asian men has been used by the English Defence League (EDL) for their own agenda.

But isn’t it strange how the EDL are silent all of a sudden?

Even when recent news state that around 99 suspected paedophiles have been found out and arrested in more than 40 police raids? The paedophiles have come from all sorts of professions including a referee, a fireman, a scout leader, a pathologist and Government workers.

But we must ask the question: Where is the EDL and why aren’t they protesting about this?

Oh yes we forgot, the EDL only target Islam and Muslims. Every other crime committed by a non-Asian or non-Muslim seems to get brushed off their shoulders.

In this article we’ll be analysing a brainless new article by the EDL called ‘Grooming Gangs: The Islamic Connection’ trying to link grooming and Islam together. We will highlight the problematic statements within it, adding appropriate notes inside the brackets at the end of each particular verse or statement.

Grooming Gangs: The Islamic Connection

We have already discussed how reference to ‘Asian’ grooming gangs unfairly stigmatises non-Muslim Asian communities that do not have this specific problem.

We also argued that failing to even consider that the men’s religion [What does this even mean?] could have had some relevance is not helpful if we want to understand and hopefully prevent these terrible crimes from happening again.

But how much of an influence can Islam truly have had? We know that the offenders are predominantly Muslim [How do you know? Did the police authorize you to hold such private information?] and predominantly Pakistani (i.e. from a Muslim culture) [So being Pakistani automatically makes them Muslim?], but that alone does not make this a Muslim problem. In order to be justified in speaking of ‘Muslim grooming gangs’ we cannot rely solely on statistics – we need to show that there is sufficient evidence that Islamic scripture, teaching and practice does go some way to explaining why there is this particular problem within the British Muslim community. [But throughout the article, there is no sufficient evidence at all]
