Sikh Community Stands Up To The EDL

Not so long ago, the English Defence League (EDL) tried hijacking a Sikh protest. But really, we know it was merely an excuse to gang up on Islam and Muslims and try to make the EDL ‘look good’.

It failed.

In the recent Bristol demo, opposition to the EDL in a counter-protest called “We Are Bristol” also included the Sikh community, that outnumbered the EDL (even though some right-wing loons have claimed otherwise).

In the opening speech, one of the members at the campaign group called Sikhs Against The EDL said,
Quote: “In the fight against racism and fascism we must build the broadest alliance possible uniting all – black and white, gay and straight, those who choose to follow religion and those who do not.”

Congratulations to the Sikh community for showing the EDL, hate is not wanted in Britain.
