EDL ‘The Finest Street Movement’ In History? – Not Really...

Seriously?

The tweet by the EDL leader, Tommy Robinson, to many... would be an insult.

The Chartist general strike in 1842 and the UK miners strikes in 1984 attracted more than half a million protesters. The Suffragette movement was also a very important movement in the UK, demanding women’s rights. We have also seen millions of anti-war protesters staging peaceful protests. Stop the War Coalition is a prominent example of such a positive and successful movement.

The history of the EDL has proved that it certainly isn’t the “finest street movement” because ever since it began, the EDL has not accomplished anything positive in Britain.

What has the EDL achieved? It has...

  1. Spread and promoted hatred and Islamophobia
  2. Promoted fear within Britain’s communities
  3. Cost the government and the taxpayer thousands of pounds in loss (click here for an example)
  4. Given rise to the dangerous far-right (click here to read about the Norway bomber’s contact)

  1. They think so big of themselves yet fail to realise they've done more bad things for Britain than the good (if any)

  2. I love your articles. I think your team does a great job of exposing the EDL for what they truly are. Keep up the good work.
Hopefully soon, the streets of Britain will be free from trash once again.
