EDL Feed Extremism: M1 Bomb Investigated

Around two people carrying deadly devices in a car on the M1 were recently captured and arrested. The Daily Mirror, has reported that these extremists may have been plotting to target an English Defence League (EDL) rally.

The Mirror recently reported (07/07/12),

Quote: ‘Counter-terror police were yesterday investigating whether two men found with a bomb in their car were on their way to attack an English Defence League rally.’

We do not know if this is true however.

But if true, the EDL is feeding extremism as the police has warned!

The BBC reported (19/11/10),

Quote: ‘Right-wing groups like the English Defence League are turning parts of Britain into recruiting grounds for Islamic extremists, police have said.’

So if this theory is true: that a plan was made to target a EDL rally, then it just goes to show that lives can be at stake, if the far-right group called the English Defence League (EDL) is not stopped in its tracks.
