EDL Raise Funds In European Parliament

The far-right is the real creeping threat to civil liberties and freedom. Now they are stealthily meeting in European Parliament to fundraise for their agendas.

Members from far-right organizations in Germany, Sweden and the UK attended a meeting in the European Parliament on 9 July at which literature was sold to attendees. The event was classed as a Non Inscrit Meeting, and not appearing on the usual schedules so it was kept a secret.

The event was an Islamophobic one, with a speaker even saying that “a society which becomes more Muslim becomes less everything else.”

The English Defence League’s (EDL) leader, Tommy Robinson, has been photographed at the event being on the panel. He has also added pictures on his Twitter account and promoted an article about the event too.

The EDL used the name as the International Civil Liberties Alliance as a cover. Members of the right-wing British Freedom Party (BFP) were also present.

Watch out EDL - Our politicians are not happy

Richard Hewitt MEP rightly said,
“In the same way Nick Griffin and the BNP tried to use the European Parliament as a spring board and failed abysmally, the EDL will find they are badly out-of-their-depth… I have written to the President of the European Parliament to complain about the use of our facilities to raise funds for such hate organisations and to investigate whether other meetings are planned.”
He is just one of the many people who are taking action. Good.
