How EDL Supporters Are Made Into Pawns

This article will help shed light to why supporters of the English Defence League (EDL) are just pawns of a fascist and hateful agenda. The EDL and parties such as the British Freedom Party (BFP) aim to gain support, and hereby, need to reassure their supporters they are doing a good job. They reassure them that they will tackle the ‘Islamic threat’ and ‘make sure British people come first’ etc… and people slowly become drawn into their agenda.

Supporters are given false hope

But really, these parties haven’t done so much for Britain anyway. Rather, they’ve made things worse. They’ve cost the government and authorities millions of pounds too, simply by protesting that really hasn’t had much of an outcome.

1. How many groomers were put behind bars because of the EDL? None.
2. How many extremists have been caught by the EDL? None.
3. How many terror plots have the EDL uncovered? None.
4. How many people have the EDL saved? None.
5. Has even awareness transformed into positive action? No.

The EDL's leader called the EDL the ‘finest street movement in history’? It’s a joke.

The EDL spoon-feeds its supporters

The EDL will preach whatever it can to make others believe in what it wants. Likewise, it’s worked. But has it been too honest? No. As an example, the EDL became very active when news about the Rochdale grooming gang emerged. The EDL even protested about it.

Clearly, the EDL have been targeting Muslim and Asian communities for their own agenda. So we should ask, what else has the EDL been hiding from people?

The EDL constantly asks for money

These parties regularly ask supporters for money to pay for various expenses. This correlates to the first point about giving people hope that something good will be achieved from it. And without a doubt, giving money to a group you support is fine, but what if your money risks being used for something else without you knowing?

The EDL have been known to do this, spending donations on other things instead. Recently, the BFP said they will be keeping donation money if a certain £5000 deposit isn’t met. Some may assume that this is alright, but the BFP changed the rules, and have not been open about it (we found out by the small piece of text on the donation form that changed recently).

Why should supporters donate when their money isn’t handled well? Would you want your electricity supplier making transactions without your approval? We sure wouldn’t.

Supporters are urged to attend protests whilst leaders don't

The EDL has put on countless demos now, and of course, without supporters, these demos can’t be effective. But there have been many protests where the leaders haven’t attended. Why?

At the recent EDL demo in Keighley 08/04/12 for example, EDL leader Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll had better things to do than attend. Instead, they sold their British supporters out to attend a ‘Worldwide Counter-Jihad Initative’ in Sweden.

This too, didn’t make too much of a change, because the opposition outnumbered them trying to drown out their speeches with vuvuzela sounds.

Why don’t these leaders protest with their supporters? Like in a game of chess, supporters are made into pawns, having to go on protests whilst leaders cease to do anything. Coming back to the first point, not much is being done.

Conclusion

Parties such as the EDL can have supporters in a tight grasp and can influence their thinking. It has done so already. Hereby, these parties are more dangerous than they seem. There is a lot hidden from our view, and we must question what else goes on behind closed doors.
