EDL Jewish Division’s Soft Spot For Burmese Bin Laden?

As they promote hatred and Islamophobia from sources such as hate group founders Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller, it is no surprise that the English Defence League (EDL) Jewish Division shares a picture of the self-proclaimed “Burmese Bin Laden”.

Do the admins support the actions of this man?

Cue Wirathu, also known as the Buddhist “Burmese Bin Laden”, has been a key figure in creating tensions and hate between the minority Muslim and majority Buddhist communities.

As the far-right Buddhist Defense League quoted, Wirathu said: “If you buy from Muslim shops, your money doesn’t just stop there… It will eventually go towards destroying your race and religion.”

Wirathu’s message of intolerance, fear and hate against the minority of Muslims has led to multiple cases of violence in Burma. This includes within Meiktila, where a dispute at a gold shop led to 40 deaths, and the destruction of a Muslim community in the city.

  1. The Page also had a satellite picture of the destroyed ethnically cleansed villages and the admin 'Liked' a comment that said: "Proud of these Buddhists in Myanmar and Sri Lanka."
