The Manic Street Preachers music group have threatened legal action against the far-right
English Defence League (
EDL) after the fascist group used their track ‘If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next’ in a promo designed for an
upcoming demonstration in Birmingham.
The Manics were “horrified” to discover what the far-right organisation had done, particularly since the 1998 track is based on an anti-fascist argument used during the Spanish Civil War and speaks out
against fascists.
The video was also promoted on the
EDL’s website.
