EDL Bristol Demo – Racism And Arrests

The English Defence League (EDL) has protested in Bristol today (14/07/12). Nothing has been achieved so far and we doubt anything positive will come out of this demo.

So far, it seems the EDL hasn't been to great. We've had racist chants and arrests.

Racist chants

Arrests

The police have confirmed that four EDL supporters have been arrested, two for face coverings, one for unlawful assembly and one for a racially aggravated public order offence.

Not wanted

Fair to say, the EDL has not been wanted in Bristol and has been outnumbered by anti-EDL protestors and gatherers. People from all walks of life, backgrounds and religions have attended.

EDL try to sell merchandise

The EDL have been trying to sell their merchandise at the protest.

Coincidentally, the EDL's Facebook Page also wanted to cash in just before the demo too.

Need to pay for the Bristol transport EDL?

It seems the EDL are really pushing for sales. They even tried selling literature in the European Parliament recently. We guess the 'Buy Us A Pint' button hasn't worked.
