American Defense League Deceives People

The sharing of misinformation is a norm within the far-right network and we’ve documented several cases, including cat crucifixion hoaxes (here) and invisible 400-man ‘Muslim mobs’ (here).

Another example we present to you is from the American Defense League (ADL), who claim that the Christian girl who was accused of blasphemy in Pakistan is photographed here.

But this isn’t even the picture of her. It’s an old picture of a poor young girl that was taken during the time of the Pakistani earthquake. It’s not of the Christian girl accused of blasphemy. A picture uploaded on Flickr in 2006 also proves how old it is. Click here for the picture.

Clearly, the ADL is being deceptive and trying to pass off something incorrect as truth. Just how much information in this bigoted network is trustworthy?
