EDL Protestor In Court For Racist Outburst

The Cambridge News has reported that a protester has pleaded guilty for making racist remarks to a police officer and spitting at another during last month’s English Defence League (EDL) protest.

An Asian PC confronted him about what he was doing and received a torrent of racial abuse, city magistrates were told. A prosecutor also said: “He was swearing and his words were slurred because he was drunk.”

The man, a 56-year-old from Cambridge, also urinated outside a house on February 23th last year when street closures for the protest were taking place.

He has appeared in court for sentencing.
