Walsall town centre was brought to a standstill on September 29 last year, with businesses forced to close and buses and taxis having to suspend their services.

During the protest, public property was damaged, EDL supporters hurt eachother, more than 20 arrests were made and multiple objects were thrown at the police. Here is a video showing more than 15 objects being thrown by EDL supporters.

The youth, who admitted one count of violent disorder, was joined by his mother and father at Walsall Magistrates Court.

He was given an eight-month youth detention training order. He is expected to spend four months in a youth detention centre.
